Phill Hooker has over 30 years and over 12,000 hours of total flying experience, plus over ten years of senior aviation management.

Phill is regarded as one of New Zealand’s most qualified and versatile instructors. He is a senior flight examiner, A-Grade flight instructor and is able to teach on virtually all types of aircraft; fixed wing, helicopter, gyro-copter, micro light, glider, hang-glider and floatplane types.

Phill retired as a pilot from Air New Zealand in 2001 (having flown Embraer Bandeirante, Saab 340 and Boeing 737 aircraft for the company), to concentrate fully on his successful flying school and to pursue other aviation interests. Adventure Aviation grew from Phill’s desire to make a company that offers unique, exciting aviation experiences that are accessible to everyone.
